At Phoong Law, we believe that showing up for our community means more than winning cases. It means using whatever platform we have built to lift up causes that make life better for the people around us. That is why we are proud to share that Anh Phoong recently partnered with Bream, a new private community designed to help women 50 and older build genuine friendships, by donating ten of her well known billboard locations across the Bay Area.

If you drive anywhere in Northern California, you have probably seen those billboards. They are hard to miss, and that is the point. For this launch, that same visibility went to work for a cause that matters: helping women in their fifties, sixties, and beyond find connection at a stage of life when friendship can be surprisingly hard to come by.

What Bream Is and Why It Exists

Bream is a private community platform and mobile app built for active, engaged women 50 and up. The idea is simple and human. Making new friends as an adult is difficult, and it often gets harder with age as careers wind down, children grow up, and longtime social circles drift apart. Bream uses a thoughtful, interest based approach to connect members through shared passions, life stage, and location, so that introductions feel intentional rather than random.

The platform launched publicly along with an iOS app, offering both virtual gatherings and local in person experiences in the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, and Denver. Founded by Ryan Reid with co founder Emily Bell, Bream has drawn support from well known backers, including AARP. The mission behind it speaks to a quiet but widespread issue that researchers and health experts have flagged for years: social isolation and loneliness among older adults, and the real toll they can take on well being.

How Anh Phoong Got Involved

When Bream prepared to launch, it recognized a small group of partners who could help spread the word. Anh Phoong was one of them. To support awareness, she donated ten of her billboard locations across San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Palo Alto, San Jose, and Vallejo. For a few weeks, some of the most visible advertising space in the Bay Area pointed people toward a community built to fight loneliness rather than toward a product or a sale.

For Anh, the decision was an easy one. Her billboards have become a familiar part of the Northern California landscape, and she has always seen that recognition as something to share. Lending that reach to a mission centered on women, friendship, and belonging fits naturally with the values that have guided Phoong Law from the beginning.

Why This Matters to Us

People sometimes assume that a personal injury law firm only thinks about cases, claims, and courtrooms. The truth is that the heart of this work is people. Every day, our team meets clients during some of the most difficult and isolating moments of their lives. We see firsthand how much it matters to feel supported, heard, and connected when things get hard. That experience shapes how we think about community far beyond any single case.

Loneliness is not a small problem. Among older adults, prolonged isolation has been linked by health organizations to a range of physical and emotional challenges. Women 50 and older often carry decades of caregiving, work, and family responsibility, and many reach a point where they have given enormous amounts of themselves while quietly losing the friendships that once kept them grounded. A platform that helps them rebuild those connections is doing meaningful work, and it deserves attention.

Visibility as a Tool for Good

There is something fitting about using billboards, of all things, to fight isolation. A billboard is a public statement. It says, in effect, this is worth seeing. By turning that space over to Bream, Anh helped send a clear message across the Bay Area: women 50 and up matter, their friendships matter, and there is a community ready to welcome them.

We think about visibility a lot at Phoong Law. Our goal has always been to make sure that people know help is available, that they are not alone, and that someone is in their corner. Those same ideas sit at the center of what Bream is trying to build. The partnership simply extends that belief into a new space.

  • It puts a spotlight on social isolation, an issue that too often goes unspoken.
  • It centers women 50 and older, a group whose friendships and well being deserve more attention.
  • It uses real world reach, not just online ads, to bring people toward connection.
  • It reflects a belief we share: that a strong community makes everyone safer and healthier.

A Pattern of Showing Up

This partnership is part of a larger commitment. Phoong Law has long invested in the communities we serve, from supporting local causes to lifting up organizations focused on women, families, and people who need a stronger voice. We do not do this work for recognition. We do it because we live here too, and because the same neighborhoods that trust us with their legal needs are the ones we want to see thrive.

Supporting Bream felt like a natural extension of that commitment. It is a chance to help a young, mission driven team reach the women who could benefit most, and to remind our community that connection and care are worth investing in at every age.
