Women’s Empowerment Month is about more than celebration. It is about visibility, mentorship, leadership, and creating real pathways forward. This March, the Sacramento Kings are putting that commitment into action, with Phoong Law proudly serving as presenting partner.
Throughout the month, the Kings are recognizing women and girls who shape sports, business, music, and community life across the Sacramento region. At the center of the celebration is a powerful message: empowerment must be intentional.
A Night That Represents Something Bigger
On March 5, the Kings will host Girls Night Out presented by Phoong Law and Jamba at Golden 1 Center as they take on the New Orleans Pelicans. The event highlights influential women across the region and transforms the arena into a space that celebrates women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and community impact.
From honoring local Women of Impact to spotlighting women owned businesses, the evening is designed to inspire and elevate. But the significance of this initiative goes far beyond one game.
The Purple Promise Presented by Phoong Law
Women’s Empowerment Month builds upon the Purple Promise presented by Phoong Law, a league first initiative introduced this season. The Purple Promise is dedicated to championing and empowering women and girls throughout the Sacramento region.
Through this initiative, the Kings and Phoong Law have:
- Hosted all girls basketball clinics that combine athletic development with leadership training
- Recognized Women of Impact during games and across social media
- Created mentorship and networking events for girls ages 14 to 18
- Partnered with nonprofits to help young women expand their career vision
These programs provide more than exposure. They create direct access to mentors, meaningful conversations about overcoming barriers, and real examples of what is possible.
Why This Partnership Matters to Phoong Law
Phoong Law has always believed that community leadership is not optional. It is a responsibility.
Founder and Attorney Anh Phoong shared, “As a woman, an entrepreneur, and someone who built her career here in Sacramento, investing in women and girls is deeply personal to me. Empowerment is not just about recognition. It is about mentorship, opportunity, and helping the next generation see what is possible.”
Phoong Law’s partnership with the Kings reflects a broader mission: to use visibility as a tool for impact. Supporting Women’s Empowerment Month aligns with the firm’s long standing commitment to uplifting women led businesses, nonprofit leaders, and young women exploring their future.
Empowerment in Action
During the March programming, the Kings are also collaborating with organizations such as Sisters of Nia, All Things Pretty, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area to host speed mentoring events. These gatherings create space for honest discussions about imposter syndrome, career navigation, leadership challenges, and building confidence.
For many young participants, these conversations can be transformative. When a girl sees someone who has navigated similar obstacles and succeeded, her vision expands.
Representation changes trajectories.
More Than a Moment
While Women’s Empowerment Month shines a spotlight on these efforts, the commitment continues year round. Clinics, mentorship programs, in arena recognition, and nonprofit partnerships are not temporary campaigns. They are ongoing investments in the community.
Sacramento thrives when opportunity is shared widely. When women are empowered, families grow stronger, businesses grow more resilient, and communities grow more connected.
Phoong Law is proud to stand alongside the Sacramento Kings in that mission.
Join the Movement
Women’s Empowerment Month is a reminder that leadership comes in many forms. It lives in boardrooms, classrooms, nonprofits, small businesses, and on the basketball court.
As Anh Phoong says, “When women support women, entire communities rise.”
This March, Sacramento is not just celebrating women. It is building something lasting for the next generation.
