The Sacramento Bee recently turned the spotlight on Phoong Law founder Anh Phoong and the firm’s remarkable growth over the past several years. What started as a one-woman operation run out of a spare bedroom in Fair Oaks has become a multi-state personal injury firm with 14 attorneys, close to 100 employees, and offices in three states.
The feature, written by Bee reporter Graham Womack, paints a picture of a firm, and a founder, that shows no signs of slowing down.
From a Spare Bedroom to a National Brand
Anh Phoong has been licensed to practice law in California since 2012. In the early days of building her firm, she worked out of a spare bedroom and rented just 1,000 square feet of flexible office space. There was no team of attorneys, no billboard campaigns, no multi-state footprint. There was just a determined attorney with a simple philosophy: go all in.
“I just knew how to give it my all. If I’m going to do this, I’m going to really do this.”
That attitude has carried the firm from those humble beginnings to where it stands today, a personal injury practice with a growing national presence and a reputation that reaches well beyond the Sacramento region.
Barry Broome, president and CEO of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council, has been watching Phoong’s rise closely. He didn’t mince words when describing what he’s seen.
“It’s great that she’s building a national brand for herself,” Broome said. “It’s exciting to see a young woman build an empire.”
Broome pointed to two things that set Phoong apart: her natural charisma and, just as importantly, the fact that she delivers real results for her clients. In his view, she is simply “a good lawyer.”
A New Home Base in Sacramento
One of the bigger developments covered in the article is the firm’s relocation of its Sacramento headquarters. Phoong Law recently moved from its longtime Land Park offices to a larger space near Watt Avenue and Highway 50 in La Riviera.
The new location gives the team something they had been outgrowing for a while, room to breathe.
“We have tons of parking space and we have tons more square footage for the office,” Phoong said, adding that she and her staff love the new space.
The move reflects a practical reality of the firm’s growth. With nearly 100 employees and a client base that continues to expand, the team needed a headquarters that could keep up with the pace of operations.
Expanding Across Three States
Sacramento has always been home, but Phoong Law’s footprint now stretches well beyond Northern California. The firm operates offices in San Francisco and Las Vegas, and recently opened a new location in Texas.
For anyone who has driven around the Sacramento area, or much of Northern California, for that matter, the expansion probably comes as no surprise. Phoong’s billboards and her signature tagline, “Something wrong? Call Anh Phoong,” have become a familiar part of the landscape. That visibility, paired with the firm’s consistent track record of fighting for injured clients, has fueled growth that now crosses state lines.
The Texas office marks the firm’s latest push into new territory and signals a clear ambition: to bring the same level of dedication and client advocacy that built the Sacramento practice to communities across the country.
Giving Back to Sacramento’s Entrepreneurial Community
Perhaps the most personal part of the Sacramento Bee feature is what Phoong plans to do with her former Land Park offices. Rather than simply selling the buildings and moving on, she is exploring the idea of turning the space into a launchpad for first-time entrepreneurs and small businesses.
It is a move that comes straight from her own experience. Phoong remembers what it was like to start with nothing, no corner office, no established brand, just drive and a willingness to bet on herself. She wants to create that same opportunity for others.
“If it’s like a first-time entrepreneur or small business and they need to launch something and they needed space, I love the idea that that’s where it would happen,” Phoong said.
Real estate broker Ryker Flint, who is handling the leasing for the Riverside Boulevard building, said the space could work well as a coworking environment and might naturally attract attorneys and other professionals who want to be in Phoong’s orbit.

What Comes Next
The Sacramento Bee piece captures a firm at a pivotal moment. Phoong Law is no longer a scrappy startup, it is an established, multi-state practice with serious infrastructure and a growing team. But the mentality that built it hasn’t changed. Anh Phoong still operates with the same all-in approach she brought to law school, to her first office, and to every case her firm has taken on since.
For the clients Phoong Law serves, that consistency matters. Whether it is a car accident, a slip and fall, or any other personal injury case, the firm’s commitment remains the same: fight hard, deliver results, and treat every client like they matter, because they do.
